INTERMITTENT FASTING PROTOCOL: eating window 8 hrs, fasting up 16 hrs .  

this gives you a solid 16 to 18 hour fast. It is important that you time your eating so that you get a minimum 15 hour fast. Plan a 6 to 8 hour window in which you eat. We recommend beginning a fasting for health lifestyle by eating your last meal in the evening and postponing breakfast until you reach your fasting window goal.  There are many other fasting protocols for specific health benefits, please ask us about them. 

  • During Fast: You are fasting but can have 5-10 perfect amino tablets or 1-2 scoops perfect amino xp drink powder and if you like black coffee or tea (2 Tbs whole fat organic creamer optional). No sweetener. 

  • Break Fast : Eat your first meal (Breakfast) approximately 15 hours from the moment you last ingested food or drink. Break your fast with protein and vegetables (salad with sea salt and extra virgin olive oil for dressing is perfect) and try to ingest 20 to 30 grams of protein (you can sub perfect amino’s) every couple of hours during your eating window.  

  • Eat during your eating window. Finish all eating, snacking and drinking except water within 8 hours of your first meal.   1. Sleep and Rest:  The regulatory functions of repair, regeneration and energy accumulation depend on balancing rest and activity.   The average human needs at least 7.5 hours of sleep nightly.  This is critical to overall wellness.

  2. Fitness:  Personal fitness must be tailored to your readiness which is determined by the above factors.  Why… An inappropriate program could send your body into a fight or flight state, which would negatively impact your results.

GENERAL FITNESS GUIDELINES

Move Your Body every day, get outside for your cardio, lift heavy things, and do yoga! At least 210 minutes of fitness weekly.

  • Warm-up 5 to 10 minutes prior to any working out.

  • Strength Training: work each muscle group (back, bi, chest, tri, legs, shoulders) at least 1 time weekly doing 3 different exercise for each muscle group, 3 to 5 sets of 6 to 12 repetitions of each exercise using HEAVY weight (60%  to 80% of 1 rep max).   It should take 40 to 70 seconds to complete 6 to 12 reps, go slow! 2 seconds positive (when muscle is contracting concentrically/pushing/ lifting)-1 second hold at peak of contraction – 3 seconds negative (when muscle contracting eccentrically, down, or being pulled or pushed by weight). Do core exercises regularly.

  • Cardio:  do it after strength training or stand alone at 65% to 85% effort depending on your fitness level. . Cardio is anything that raises your heart rate… you can jump on your bed!  We recommend participating in interval training 5 to 20 minutes after workouts.  This means Work HARD for 30 to 90 seconds followed by 20 to 90 seconds of recovery.  This could be an intense 5 minute session of 60 seconds of work and 30 seconds of rest. Participating in outdoor activities has amazing health benefits!  Do it! Please consult your trainer for intervals that are appropriate for you according to your fitness level and health conditions.

  • Stretching:  Stretch for 10 minutes following your workouts. Hold your stretches for at least 1 minute statically, no bouncing.  Increase stretch on exhalation.   Do yoga at least 3 days a week if you can.  

  • Consider practicing yoga for your body, mind, and soul!

You can’t go wrong with these delicious Yams. They’re a perfect side dish to accompany any meal or to pair with a big salad. You may find this recipe becomes a part your weekly lunch or dinner rotation.

yams are an incredibly nutritious food that are packed with antioxidants like beta carotene, vitamins C, E & D, and minerals such as manganese and iron. They are also high in potassium which helps to lower blood pressure by removing excess sodium and regulating fluid balance in the body. Yams are an excellent anti-stress food and are known to help relax muscles, steady nerves, and balance cognitive function. 

They are also one of the best anti-cancer foods and can particularly help to prevent breast, colon, lung, skin, and oral cancers. Yams are known for being easy to digest and are very good for ulcers, inflamed colons, digestive disorders, and constipation. Yams contain compounds called phytochelatins that can bind to heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, & cadmium and safely remove them through the body. 

Why add Cinnamon… it is a great source of vitamins A and B-complex and minerals such as chromium, iron, zinc, and calcium. 

It is particularly good for helping diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, flatulence, and arthritis. Cinnamon is known to help prevent and shorten the duration of the flu as well to eliminate congestion and mucus from the body. Cinnamon has anti-cancer properties and has been known to reduce the growth of leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells within the body. It is commonly used in gum and dental treatments due to its pain relieving and antiseptic properties. 

Cinnamon helps to boost memory and cognitive function, just smelling cinnamon spice or its essential oil can help make you more alert and focused. Cinnamon oil is also one of the most antimicrobial essential oils and is a potent disinfectant around the home and office. Cinnamon contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties that kill microorganisms such as staph, botulism, aflatoxin mold, E. coli, and cold and flu germs. Consider adding a couple of pinches of cinnamon every morning to morning tea, cereal, smoothie, or juice. 

Yam w/ Cinnamon

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized yams, scrubbed and cut 3/4 inch cubes

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 TBD cinnamon

Directions:

Place butter, coconut oil, and cinnamon in a pan and melt together.

Place the yams in a 10X13 baking dish, pour melted cinnamon butter over yams and sprinkle with sea salt.

Preheat oven to 375 and bake for 25 to 30 minutes (until tender).

Serve immediately or chill and enjoy cold for a lower glycemic affect.

Digestion is the engine of our health.

It’s how we get our energy, nutrition, and vitality.

But when it goes off, it can throw our whole system out of whack.

Many people eat in a rush, gobbling down food in mere minutes.

If your stomach is a small fire, these massive pieces of partially chewed food are huge wet logs.

They need to be broken down into smaller, more manageable chunks to burn well. So relax, take your time enjoy your food. Feel the taste and the texture.

This translates into two important action steps:

  1. Chew your food thoroughly. Chewing roughly 30 times will break down your food properly. This is easier on your stomach and will give you more energy and nutrition. (you’ll taste more, too!)

  2. Eat smaller meals. The amount of food going into the stomach can overload its digestive capacity and create problems like indigestion and heartburn.

 

When You Eat: Recovery For Your Stomach

The timing of when you eat is a little-known secret of robust digestive health – not to mention overall health, immunity, detoxing, energy, and even muscle building.

Digestion actually turns off other important body processes like detoxing, healing, building new protein and enzymes, and resetting your digestive system. Every athlete needs recovery time – so does your stomach.

Fasting and Intermittent fasting are powerful ways to give your body a chance to clean itself, rebuild, and rebalance[1]. These are deep topics, so here is quick overview. Please keep in mind that one size does not fit all. If you suffer from adrenal fatigue or one of many other health issues eating more often my be best for your body.

Intermittent fastingis a protocol that keeps your food consumption into a tight window of time, generally between 6 and 8 hours in a day. This gives your body a nice long rest to fully absorb the food, cleanse, and heal itself. For example, if your first meal is at 10am, your last meal of the day would be around 5pm.

Fasting is the total abstinence from solid food. A 3-5 day fast can powerfully activate your immune system, trigger major detox, reset your digestion, but even a 1-day fast can bring many benefits. Be sure to inform yourself and consult your health professional before undergoing a major fast.

METAL-FREE DETOXIFICATION PROGRAM

Heavy metals are plentiful in our environment. In our daily contact with water, air and food, they enter our bodies and can cause health problems. Mercury, lead, cadmium, nickel, antimony arsenic, beryllium, bismuth, copper, platinum, thallium, tungsten and uranium are heavy metals. To get rid of heavy metals do the Metal-Free Heavy Metal Detoxification Program.

This program consists of the following steps:

1. If you have silver fillings which contain mercury, cadmium, nickel, etc., have them removed if possible. If it’s not feasible to have them removed, start the Metal-Free Detoxification program by using a spray extender and spraying the Metal-Free to the back of the throat. This removal step is optional but highly recommended. Many start this step while also taking the supplements. Whether you have silver fillings for not, you can still do this program.

2. Eat a healthy diet. This is very important as it helps reduce the number of heavy metals and toxins going into the body! This diet over the long run has proven to help people detoxify the most and improve overall health:

a. One should eat a Paleo type diet. The best foods are organic meat, fish, eggs, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.

b. Avoid grains as much as possible including all gluten products.

c. Avoid dairy except for organic butter.

d. Pure water (1/2 ounce for each pound of body weight).

e. Try to eat foods in their natural state.

f. Avoid sugar, chocolate, refined carbohydrates, artificial sweeteners, trans-fats, and “fast food”.

g. Avoid packaged foods and processed meats which contain toxic additives that only serve to add to the overall burden. Location, budget and time may be factors in how you eat so follow this as closely as possible.

3. Take the Heavy Metal Detoxification Supplements:

a. Metal-Free®: 1-8 sprays per day under tongue. Begin by taking 1-2 sprays per day and then build up gradually to 3-4, then 5-6 and finally to 8 sprays a day. Hold for 30-60 seconds. Take on an empty stomach in the morning or at bed time.

1. Maintain a good diet as described in the detoxification program. Try to eat all organic fruits, produce and meats as much as possible. This keeps one from getting the toxic load back.

Q: Is Metal-Free a capsule?

A: Metal-Free comes in a 30 ml bottle and is in liquid form. This is taken as an oral spray and held under the tongue for approximately 30-60 seconds. Then the liquid is swallowed. There are approximately 240 sprays per bottle that can last one from 4 to 12 weeks depending on the daily dosage. For children, a dropper can be used. 4 drops equal one spray.

Q: What type of detoxification symptoms can one expect in being on Metal-Free?

A: Sometimes people may experience normal detoxification reactions such as foul body odor, headaches, leg pain, increase or decrease in energy level, mucous discharge or other flulike symptoms.
